Base Salary
$145k - $193k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, scale, and performance-tune GraphQL APIs, low-latency gRPC services, and SQL queries for casino lobby, game launch, and real-money wagering flows.
- Own and communicate high-scope technical problems through proposals, specifications, and presentations to leadership and partner teams.
- Architect and deliver features and third-party game provider integrations end-to-end.
- Identify production bottlenecks and risks and drive scalability improvements.
- Set up and refine Datadog monitoring and alerting for owned systems.
- Mentor engineers through technical specifications, pairing, and code reviews.
- Participate in on-call rotations and own production release cycles end-to-end.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of experience building applications in Elixir.
- At least 2 years of experience designing and evolving GraphQL schemas.
- Strong foundations in computer science, data structures, distributed systems, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience operating production systems at scale, including load testing, tracing, and remediation of CPU and latency regressions.
- Experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Comfort working in the terminal, Git, GitHub or similar tools, and an editor of choice.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as ExUnit, RSpec, Jest, pytest, or equivalent.
- Experience with background job processing technologies such as Oban, Exq, Sidekiq, Celery, or Beanstalk.
- Experience with asynchronous event-handling infrastructure such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, or Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
- Preferred: experience in iCasino, sports betting, regulated real-money domains, game provider and wallet integrations, hexagonal architecture, Domain Driven Development, open-source contributions, startups, or casino, sports, and esports interests.
