Responsibilities
- Write significant amounts of software code that satisfy project requirements and documentation and design standards.
- Assist with software architecture, requirements gathering, product definition, and software design specifications.
- Correct defects identified through QA software testing and systems testing.
- Support field-test personnel after development and contribute to project oversight through the phase-gate process.
- Coach other engineers and occasionally provide direction to testing and laboratory support personnel.
- Lead projects or research activities of moderate complexity and review the work of lower-level professionals.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree and 5–8 years of experience.
- Candidates without a degree may qualify with 9–12 years of combined education and equivalent work experience, with approximately one year of experience equating to one year of education.
- Requires advanced knowledge gained through advanced education and work experience.
