Applied Scientist - LLM Training System as a Service - Global Frontier Tech Recruitment Program - 2027 Start (PhD)
ByteDanceResponsibilities
- Develop and optimize LLM training, inference, and reinforcement learning frameworks.
- Collaborate with model researchers to scale LLM training and reinforcement learning.
- Optimize GPU and CUDA performance to build high-performance LLM training, inference, and reinforcement learning engines.
- Design scalable training architectures that separate logical control from compute execution for dynamic agent-training workloads.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a PhD in computer science, automation, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, and Python.
- Understanding of deep learning algorithms, neural network architecture, and deep learning training frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Preferred experience with CUDA GPU high-performance optimization, computer architecture, parallel computing, memory access optimization, and low-bit computing.
- Preferred familiarity with FSDP, DeepSpeed, JAX SPMD, Megatron-LM, Verl, TensorRT-LLM, ORCA, vLLM, and SGLang.
- Knowledge of LLM models and experience accelerating LLM model optimization are preferred.
