Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Owners and Functional Leads to understand product intent, user journeys, and ATM operational context.
  • Map product interfaces, data flows, dependencies, and integration risks across AIR Lab applications.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated integration, sanity, smoke, and regression test suites.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude to derive test cases, generate test code and data, and analyze failures and logs, while verifying all outputs.
  • Apply risk-based judgement to determine blocking gates, scheduled checks, non-blocking tests, and lighter verification based on product maturity and change impact.
  • Integrate test suites into GitLab CI/CD pipelines and ephemeral namespace environments while controlling execution time and flakiness.
  • Triage failures, distinguish product defects from test or environment issues, create reproducible defect reports, and follow issues through resolution.
  • Retire obsolete tests, fix or quarantine flaky tests, and refactor suites as products evolve.
  • Create reusable prompts, patterns, and guidelines for AI-assisted testing.
  • Report coverage, test results, blockers, and quality risks to the Validation Lead and Product Owners.
  • Own and drive the Software QA lifecycle and raise product defects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field is required; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • 4–6 years of experience in software QA or test automation, including hands-on delivery of integration, sanity, and regression suites.
  • Knowledge of software QA principles including the test pyramid, risk-based testing, and test design techniques.
  • Hands-on API and service-level test automation using tools such as Karate, Pytest, REST Assured, or Postman/Newman.
  • Working proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI, and working with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to understand distributed systems including APIs, messaging, and data pipelines.
  • Good English communication skills and confidence working with product and functional stakeholders.
  • Exposure to ATM/ATC or the wider aviation domain is desirable.
  • Experience with prompt engineering or agentic AI workflows, including reusable prompts for engineering teams, is desirable.
  • Familiarity with UI or performance test automation using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or k6 is desirable.
  • Experience in R&D, proof-of-concept, or MVP environments is desirable.
  • Practical experience using AI assistants such as Claude to generate, refactor, and analyze tests is desirable.
  • Pragmatic, curious, flexible, proactive, collaborative, and able to communicate risks clearly.

Benefits

  • Opportunities for personal development and competency growth.
  • Ability to explore other Thales domains, products, customers, countries, and more complex solutions.
  • Choice between a technical-expertise path and a leadership path.
  • Opportunities to build an international career within Thales.
  • Role located in Singapore, Singapore.
