Base Salary
$230k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Mentor engineering community members and help drive professional development within technical teams.
- Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Design and implement large-scale distributed and cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Partner with architects and product leaders to define platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy.
- Lead architectural design reviews, influence technical standards, and establish coding standards and design patterns across teams.
- Use observability and reliability practices to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 9+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: experience with open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, mentoring senior engineers, using observability, leading architecture reviews, implementing reliability practices, and influencing technology strategy.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, IDE copilots, and interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts or large-scale technical initiatives.
