Senior Java Software Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Identify work scope, provide evidence-based estimates, and contribute to technical designs.
- Develop Java software using object-oriented design, software patterns, and established coding standards.
- Design interfaces and information exchange between reusable software modules.
- Build and maintain web services and resilient service communication integrations.
- Deliver functionality in a fast-paced environment aligned with product release goals.
- Maintain code quality through peer review, unit testing, testing automation, and documentation.
- Evaluate technology choices and their impacts on scalability, quality, and delivery.
- Collaborate with Product Line Leaders, global teams, stakeholders, and customers to understand product requirements and vision.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with advanced experience.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, software design patterns, and Java coding principles.
- Hands-on experience with REST, SOAP, WSDL, Apache Commons, Maven, SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework, including Core, MVC, Integration, and Data.
- Understanding of software development life cycle practices, Git, DevOps, testing, estimation, design, documentation, and peer review.
- Strong data structures and algorithms knowledge and the ability to implement them in a programming language.
- Preferred experience with ActiveMQ Artemis, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, microservices architecture, GitHub Copilot, GWT, Angular, and TypeScript.
- Fluency in English and ability to collaborate with global teams across time zones.
