Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end automation across the fulfillment chain and more than 30 microservices.
- Test Kafka producer and consumer event contracts across asynchronous workflows.
- Validate data consistency and reconcile shared and consolidated inventory layers.
- Scale distributed and parallelized automation with containerized runners and CI/CD integration.
- Perform REST and Feign API/contract testing and failure-injection testing for retries, dead-letter topics, and escalation paths.
- Conduct performance/load testing and chaos testing for peak demand and blast-radius analysis.
- Partner with engineering leads on quality gates, shift-left practices, and architecture reviews.
- Mentor other SDETs and raise automation standards across the function.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in automation or SDET roles with substantial backend API automation experience.
- Strong Java skills and experience with a test framework such as TestNG or JUnit, plus RestAssured or an equivalent tool.
- Hands-on experience testing event-driven and Kafka-based architectures.
- Strong SQL skills and the ability to reason about data consistency across distributed services.
- CI/CD experience with Jenkins or GitLab CI and experience scaling test execution through parallelization and containerization.
- Understanding of microservices failure modes, including idempotency, retries, eventual consistency, and partial failure.
- Experience with warehouse, OMS, or logistics/supply-chain platforms is preferred.
- Experience with JMeter, Locust, Gatling, or k6 is preferred.
- Exposure to Elasticsearch, Redis, observability tooling, chaos engineering, or fault injection is preferred.
