Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and long-term evolution of Assessment Experience backend systems.
- Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, data models, and asynchronous or event-driven workflows.
- Lead architecture decisions involving reliability, data correctness, maintainability, extensibility, operability, and safe rollout practices.
- Translate product and customer goals into technical strategy, architecture, and execution plans.
- Drive cross-team technical initiatives involving attack content, integrations, and asset matching.
- Write production code and establish standards for design, code quality, testing, observability, and feature-flagged rollouts.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-driven approaches to conversational and outcome-based experiences.
- Lead design reviews, code reviews, architecture proposals, technical writing, mentoring, hiring support, and technical coaching.
- Use customer feedback and production signals to improve how customers identify risk and act on assessment results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including sustained ownership of production backend systems.
- Experience building backend services with Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
- Strong SQL skills and production experience with a relational database, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and schema design.
- Experience building backend services on AWS, GCP, or Azure and familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
- Experience designing and operating APIs, services, and asynchronous or event-driven systems.
- Experience with data modeling and persistence layers for product-grade backend systems.
- Operational maturity in observability, testing, reliability practices, and debugging difficult customer-visible production problems.
- Experience producing technical design documents, architectural proposals, or engineering standards adopted by other teams.
- Experience leading cross-team technical work and mentoring engineers.
- Preferred experience includes GraphQL backends, Neo4j or other graph databases, ETL and streaming data pipelines, data processing frameworks, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, service instrumentation, API platforms, workflow-oriented customer experiences, and AI-assisted or conversational products.
- Experience in vulnerability management, exposure management, security SaaS, penetration-testing products, security telemetry, or high-stakes data is advantageous.
