Responsibilities
- Develop and provide software solutions in accordance with business specifications and IT priorities.
- Gather and analyze requirements, assess technical feasibility, and design solutions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Write, modify, test, document, deliver, maintain, and enhance software applications and components.
- Identify and correct software defects and support mission-critical applications outside normal working hours when required.
- Create technical specifications and test plans and assist with end-user training.
- Consult with team members and business management regarding projects, milestones, tasks, maintenance, and software performance.
- Lead project development teams using onshore and offshore resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
- At least 8 years of related experience developing software in a business production environment.
- Experience with object-oriented programming in Java, Spring, Hibernate/JPA, and servlet containers such as Tomcat or Jetty.
- Proficiency with Maven or Gradle, Git, Eclipse or IntelliJ, SQL, and JDBC.
- Experience with GWT and SmartGWT; SmartGWT enterprise-level experience is preferred.
- Experience with Docker containers and integrating applications using IPC methods and web services.
- Understanding of object-, component-, and service-oriented design principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to bridge non-technical users and technical resources.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, work independently and collaboratively, and lead teams with varying technical expertise.
- Experience with externally sold software packages, formal software development methodologies, and public cloud vendors such as AWS is preferred but not required.
