Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy and translate business goals into scalable engineering milestones.
- Lead architecture for distributed, event-driven, and cloud-native systems, including system boundaries, data consistency, and integration patterns.
- Drive AI-native engineering practices and implement intelligent platform features.
- Establish architectural governance, code-quality standards, modularity, maintainability, and technical-debt reduction.
- Build internal frameworks, tools, and golden paths that improve developer productivity across engineering teams.
- Lead resolution of critical production outages and long-term performance bottlenecks.
- Mentor senior engineers, conduct design reviews, and provide technical coaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, object-oriented programming, and functional programming.
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives from conception through global production deployment.
- Deep expertise in Java or similar major languages and modern web technologies.
- Extensive experience building and scaling distributed systems in AWS cloud-native environments and modernizing applications or platforms.
- Strong enterprise application architecture and large-scale codebase experience, including performance optimization and bottleneck identification.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation.
- Experience with performance monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK.
- Strong experience with AWS services and relational, NoSQL, and vector databases.
- Understanding of enterprise security, including OAuth2, OIDC, and encryption at rest and in transit.
- Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs in terms of business value, think systemically, take ownership, and mentor engineers.
- Experience integrating AI/ML features such as RAG or agentic workflows into enterprise software is preferred.
- Experience using AI tools and models such as Amazon Q, Kiro, and Claude is preferred.
- Education from a highly selective premier engineering institution with a Computer Science fundamentals focus is preferred.
