Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the architecture of the C++ core software for mobile robotics solutions.
- Define module, layer, and responsibility structures within the software architecture.
- Design and safeguard stable APIs and interfaces between system components.
- Evaluate technical decisions for quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Identify and reduce technical debt at the system and architecture levels.
- Collaborate with robot software, fleet software, safety, and test and validation teams.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews and support debugging and integration.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to developers to ensure high code quality.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field.
- Many years of professional experience in C++ software development and software architecture.
- Very strong knowledge of modern C++, including C++17 or C++20 and memory and threading models.
- Solid experience with software architecture, API design, and modular systems.
- Knowledge of performance, runtime, and stability analysis for complex software systems.
- Experience with technical leadership, architecture ownership, or mentoring.
- Strong systems thinking, decision-making ability, and structured working style.
- Good written and spoken German and English skills.
