Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and execution of data models and strategies that feed Blockworks products.
- Architect data warehousing, ingestion, and sourcing pipelines using multiple SDKs to aggregate data into Blockworks’ data warehouse.
- Design and implement ETL solutions, including accessing blockchain nodes, sourcing third-party data, and modeling schemas across PostgreSQL and ClickHouse.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to engineering teams implementing established architectures and designs.
- Improve data workflows and automate routine tasks to drive operational efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with Research, Product, and Engineering teams to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Lead data-related projects and strategies across Blockworks’ suite of projects.
Requirements
- Significant knowledge of the crypto industry and a crypto-native perspective are required.
- At least four years of hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, data operations, and data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience building backend systems at scale focused on data processing and ingestion.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, and/or TypeScript.
- Incredibly strong SQL expertise, ideally including Parquet, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.
- Deep experience creating data warehouses at scale, including environments processing more than 100 million rows per day.
- Experience with DevOps tools and cloud solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
- Hands-on experience with SQL transformation frameworks such as dbt or SQLMesh.
- Experience with crypto, web3, startup, or incubator environments is preferred.
- Experience designing, building, and managing microservices, particularly with security, privacy, and scalability expertise, is preferred.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
