Responsibilities
- Design and develop user-space applications on Embedded Linux platforms for energy storage systems.
- Implement and maintain Modbus RTU/TCP, CAN using Socket CAN, and Ethernet-based industrial communication protocols.
- Perform new board bring-up and hardware validation on embedded systems.
- Develop multithreaded, event-driven applications using socket programming, IPC, and shared memory.
- Debug communication issues using Wireshark, CAN analyzers, and protocol tools.
- Write maintainable C code, participate in code reviews, and collaborate on technical discussions.
- Create design, unit test, and integration test documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, debug, and test product features.
- Drive continuous improvement in firmware development processes and methodologies.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Embedded Linux user-space development.
- Strong C programming skills are mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-A or MPU-based systems.
- Experience with multithreading, IPC, shared memory, and TCP/UDP socket programming.
- Good understanding of industrial communication protocols, including Modbus and CAN.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: experience with software design principles, functional design of software components and libraries, object-oriented concepts, and Agile methods.
- Preferred: general understanding of computer security vulnerabilities and protection techniques.
- Preferred: knowledge of Git and experience building Yocto for embedded devices.
- Preferred: experience working with TI microprocessors.
- Advanced degree is preferred.
- Well-developed communication and collaboration skills.
