Base Salary
$206k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve Affirm's lakehouse analytics platform.
- Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and data masking policies in Snowflake.
- Lead analytics engineering practices, including data modeling and transformation pipelines.
- Drive data governance and privacy engineering initiatives.
- Identify and execute cost optimization strategies for analytical compute and storage.
- Collaborate with product engineering and data science teams to meet data needs.
- Establish best practices for lakehouse operations at scale.
- Stay updated on industry trends in analytical data platforms.
- Mentor engineers across the Lake Analytics Platform and Analytics Engineering teams.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve production issues.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software or data engineering.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar analytical data warehouses.
- Strong experience with Apache Iceberg, Spark, and AWS data lake architectures.
- Experience with dbt or equivalent transformation frameworks.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with Kotlin or Go is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
