Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AUTOSAR MCAL drivers for ADC, PWM, GPT, ICU, DIO, PORT, CAN, LIN, SPI, UART, WDG, MCU, FLS, and Ethernet peripherals.
- Own MCAL modules across requirements analysis, design, coding, configuration, unit testing, integration, and validation.
- Implement software according to MISRA C and AUTOSAR coding guidelines and resolve static-analysis findings.
- Create software design descriptions, configuration guidance, test specifications, traceability, and related engineering work products.
- Bring up and debug MCAL drivers on FPGA and silicon using embedded debug tools and laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with SoC architecture, hardware, platform software, functional safety, validation, and tools teams on clocks, resets, interrupts, DMA, memory maps, and peripheral integration.
- Integrate MCAL components with AUTOSAR BSW stacks and configuration environments and support system-level issue resolution.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests and contribute to CI-based quality checks.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, defect analysis, and continuous improvement of reusable MCAL components.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of embedded software development experience, including meaningful hands-on AUTOSAR MCAL or low-level driver development.
- Strong embedded C programming skills and practical knowledge of pointers, memory-mapped I/O, interrupts, concurrency, and linker or startup concepts.
- Experience developing or integrating MCAL modules and working with AUTOSAR specifications and configuration workflows.
- Understanding of MCU subsystems, including clocks, resets, interrupt controllers, DMA, timers, watchdogs, communication peripherals, and memory interfaces.
- Experience with MISRA C, static analysis, code reviews, unit testing, and requirements-to-test traceability.
- Working knowledge of ISO 26262 software development practices and safety-oriented engineering deliverables.
- Experience with hardware bring-up and debugging using Lauterbach, iSystem, J-Link, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or similar equipment.
- Experience with Git and Python or shell scripting for build and test automation.
- Ability to read hardware specifications and translate register-level behavior into production-quality drivers.
- Hands-on experience with EB tresos Studio, Vector DaVinci Configurator, or equivalent AUTOSAR configuration tools is preferred.
- Experience with Vector, Elektrobit, ETAS, or another third-party AUTOSAR BSW stack is preferred.
- Exposure to Polyspace, QAC, Tessy, Cantata, or equivalent static-analysis and unit-test solutions is preferred.
- Knowledge of RISC-V architecture or experience moving MCAL software across MCU architectures is preferred.
- Exposure to ASPICE, safety audits, tool qualification, customer delivery, or OEM/Tier-1 integration is preferred.
- Experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and SPI automotive communication protocols is preferred.
Benefits
- Opportunity to build MCAL software for a new RISC-V automotive MCU platform.
- Direct collaboration with CPU, SoC, functional safety, validation, and platform software teams.
- End-to-end ownership from specification and driver implementation through hardware validation and customer enablement.
- Flexible growth path toward MCAL architecture, functional safety, platform leadership, or deep technical specialization.
- Employment is subject to applicable background checks and medical screenings under local law.
