Responsibilities
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Maintain and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including jobs, build troubleshooting, and runner management.
- Support repository maintenance, branching strategies, merge requests, reviews, and basic conflict resolution.
- Assist with provisioning and configuration management across Linux and Windows environments.
- Perform virtualization tasks in VMware and Suse Harvester, including creating virtual machines, templates, and images.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash and PowerShell and create scripts and runbooks.
- Monitor environments, respond to alerts, perform routine maintenance and patching, and participate in deployments and releases.
- Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, topology documentation, and pipeline documentation.
- Research and trial tools through small proof-of-concept tasks and collaborate with engineering, IT, and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, systems administration, or related internships and projects.
- Understanding of version control, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and observability practices.
- Familiarity with Git and GitLab, including branches, merge requests, and reviews.
- Hands-on exposure to Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell and willingness to learn the remaining technologies.
- Comfort with the Linux command line and Windows Server basics; Active Directory and DNS knowledge is a plus.
- Scripting ability in Bash and/or PowerShell for automation and administrative tasks.
- Fundamental networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP.
- Experience with VMware or another virtualization platform; Suse Harvester exposure is preferred.
- Introductory Kubernetes knowledge is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and a collaborative, growth-oriented approach.
- Relevant Linux, cloud, or Kubernetes certifications are welcome but not required.
