Base Salary
$122k - $189k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, reliable software solutions for Nordstrom’s supply chain systems.
- Build and support the integration layer between the Warehouse Management System and physical Material Handling Equipment.
- Analyze, design, code, test, install, maintain, and troubleshoot complex software programs.
- Develop and consume services using REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, and related service technologies.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate on software design within a Scrum team.
- Drive build, release, and production deployment plans and transition applications into support.
- Work with business, infrastructure, and security teams on production enhancements and defect fixes.
- Implement system metrics, real-time alerting, reporting, and dashboards for uptime and performance visibility.
- Assist with high-level software strategy and solution planning while following corporate policies and industry best practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent degree.
- Knowledge of Java and the Spring Boot framework.
- Experience with AWS or GCP, backend databases such as Spanner, NoSQL, or PostgreSQL, and RESTful architecture and microservices.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, messaging middleware such as Kafka and SQS, and testing and delivery tools.
- Knowledge of Python, React, JavaScript, or C# is a plus.
- Experience writing and consuming services using REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, or combinations of these technologies.
- Strong grasp of multiple technology stacks and a desire to automate workflows.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling and how agents can accelerate design, coding, and testing.
- Ability to collaborate across diverse, cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences.
- Experience with software development practices such as Scrum, Kanban, or other agile methodologies.
