Responsibilities
- Design, implement, manage, and support secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Provision and maintain cloud environments using Terraform and Ansible.
- Build and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for automated application building, testing, and deployment.
- Write automation scripts and tools using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Manage Docker-based containerized solutions and orchestration practices.
- Implement secrets management, access control, encryption, patching, monitoring, and compliance controls.
- Implement monitoring and logging, including CloudWatch, for observability and incident response.
- Design and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Configure routing, traffic management, load balancing, and NGINX-based traffic flows.
- Support release and change management, deployment governance, rollback strategies, and version control.
- Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues and implement mitigation strategies.
- Use Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket to support delivery and collaboration.
- Manage SNS topics and integrations with Lambda or external systems for event-driven architectures.
- Work within Agile teams and participate in planning, retrospectives, stand-ups, and solution design.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with a programming or scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat operating systems and Red Hat and Windows administration.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or another cloud provider.
- Experience with containerized solutions and application troubleshooting.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience with Ansible or another configuration-management tool such as Puppet.
- Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, or equivalent.
- Experience with automation, AWS infrastructure, and cloud-native design principles.
- Preferred: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or equivalent certification.
- Preferred: proficiency in Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Preferred: experience with Ansible and strong Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting skills.
- Preferred: ITIL Foundation Certification or experience in ITIL-based environments.
- BPSS pre-screening is required to start; applicants must be UK citizens based in the UK and have or be able to obtain UK SC Clearance.
