Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, maintain, and support data engineering solutions for large-scale healthcare datasets.
- Build ETL pipelines that acquire, process, and load medical data into Databricks.
- Analyze and profile data and construct, optimize, and operate data flow processes.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers and delegate tasks.
- Own assigned workstreams and ensure delivery quality, timeliness, and accountability.
- Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to technical standards.
- Create automated unit and integration tests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Six years of experience with SQL, Python, and Scala.
- Six years of data engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of Databricks and experience with big data batch processing and Azure Cloud Services.
- Practical knowledge of Apache Spark, Delta, and Parquet.
- Experience with complex ETL design and implementation, data profiling, integration, quality, warehousing, and reporting.
- Experience with CI/CD automation tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.
- Practical experience with FastAPI for production-grade APIs is a plus.
- Experience with database design and modeling, large-volume terabyte-scale processing, and Agile environments.
- Healthcare or pharmaceutical data experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of algorithms and design patterns.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Ability to present complex results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools such as Copilot or Cursor.
