Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, and improve AWS production and development platform infrastructure.
Monitor platform health, capacity, availability, and performance, and respond to alerts and emerging risks.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, lead incident response, restore services, and complete post-incident reviews.
Perform patching, upgrades, backup verification, recovery testing, certificate renewals, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, deployment, database, and production service issues with development and IT teams.
Manage cloud networking, identity and access management, security groups, secrets, and infrastructure security controls.
Maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and operational runbooks.
Administer and improve CI/CD pipelines for builds, testing, releases, rollbacks, and deployments.
Use Infrastructure as Code tools to provision and maintain consistent environments.
Automate recurring operational tasks and support capacity planning, cost optimization, performance tuning, and service continuity planning.
Apply cybersecurity, compliance, and operational best practices, including controls aligned with ISO 27001.
Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, recovery plans, procedures, and knowledgebase content.
Share DevOps and site reliability practices with development and IT teams and contribute to platform standards.

At least 3 years of experience in platform operations, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or a related role.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or hands-on experience operating and supporting production cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, identity and access management, and cloud security controls.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or equivalent platforms.
Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues, manage incidents, and document root causes and corrective actions.
Experience with patching, upgrades, backups, recovery testing, certificate management, and capacity planning.
Experience with Jenkins or GitLab CI and safe deployment and rollback practices.
Practical experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
Experience supporting backend services and database technologies such as Java, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL platforms.
Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and tooling, including vulnerability management, SAST/DAST, monitoring, and proactive risk mitigation.
Strong written documentation, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability and willingness to participate in a scheduled 24/7 on-call support rotation.

Expected annual base salary is $80,000-$120,000 CDN.
