Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable components of distributed systems and platform services.
- Build fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Develop functional, performance, load, fault-injection, and brownout tests.
- Create dashboards, telemetry, alarms, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, participate in incident response and root-cause investigations, and support operational rotations.
- Implement troubleshooting automation, infrastructure-as-code tooling, and cloud infrastructure maintenance processes.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance practices, and documentation standards.
- Review implementations for scalability and support end-to-end delivery from design through ongoing operation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering production-quality distributed systems, platform services, or developer tools.
- Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Java, Go, C++, C#, Python, or similar.
- Experience designing APIs, data models, and service architectures for scalability, availability, security, and operability.
- Understanding of cloud-native systems, containers, orchestration, infrastructure automation, release engineering, and CI/CD concepts.
- Strong understanding of distributed-systems fundamentals, including consistency tradeoffs, failure handling, concurrency, and resilient service design.
- Experience with code review, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Demonstrated ownership from problem definition through design, implementation, launch, and ongoing operation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and effective cross-disciplinary collaboration.
