Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SIL, PIL, and HIL environments interfacing with flight software and avionics teams.
- Integrate spacecraft flight software with dynamic simulation models, hardware interfaces, mission control systems, ground-segment components, communication links, and databases.
- Develop closed-loop testing infrastructure, including telemetry generation and telecommand injection for simulator and EGSE equipment.
- Enable system verification tests and pre-flight validation campaigns with traceability between requirements, test cases, and validation results.
- Develop tools for monitoring, logging, replaying, and investigating test results and anomalies.
- Maintain test automation frameworks, scripting tools, CI/CD workflows, simulation assets, flight-software builds, and test scenarios.
- Develop and validate operational procedures, participate in training and mission rehearsals, and support test and on-console operations.
- Own Ground-to-Ground Interface Control Documents and contribute to Space-to-Ground Interface Control Documents.
- Participate in 24/7 shift work and on-call duties during critical mission phases.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in spacecraft systems, ground systems, or simulation/test environments.
- Experience with SIL, PIL, HIL, or mixed hardware-software environments.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, GitLab CI/CD, and real-time simulation frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and telemetry/telecommand flows.
- Ability to produce technical documentation, interface definitions, and test artifacts.
- Professional-level written and verbal English; Japanese is a plus.
- Preferred experience with mission control systems such as Yamcs and Grafana.
- Preferred familiarity with CCSDS protocols, telemetry processing, commanding chains, avionics interfaces, EGSE, Git, GitLab, and software configuration control.
- Experience supporting system verification tests and mission rehearsals is preferred.
- Background in lunar, deep-space, or planetary missions is preferred.
