Base Salary
$155k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex full-stack features across backend services, APIs, lambdas, and frontend systems.
- Translate ambiguous requirements into technical designs and own architectural trade-offs.
- Use AI agents for planning and implementation, then rigorously review and validate generated code.
- Set standards for AI-assisted code review and help the team develop effective AI engineering practices.
- Lead small- to medium-sized technical initiatives, coordinate dependencies, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers through code review, pairing, and direct feedback.
- Monitor production behavior, identify regressions, and own delivery outcomes.
- Improve code quality, processes, and team norms while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building web applications, backend services, and APIs.
- Strong PHP/Laravel experience is preferred.
- Experience using AI agents as a default starting point, including planning, prompting, evaluating output, and reviewing generated code.
- Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and make defensible technical decisions.
- Experience tracking production behavior and identifying regressions.
- Examples of leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-functional alignment.
- Experience working closely with product managers and design teams and handling difficult stakeholder conversations.
- Ability to demonstrate ownership, direct feedback, early help-seeking, and resilience.
