Machine Learning Engineer Graduate (Global E-Commerce, Recommendation) - 2026 Start (PhD)

- Build large-scale e-commerce recommendation algorithms and systems for products, livestreams, and short videos.
- Develop long- and short-term user-interest models and extract relevant information from large datasets.
- Design, develop, evaluate, and iterate on candidate-generation and ranking models, including click-through-rate and conversion-rate prediction.
- Build real-time data pipelines, perform feature engineering, optimize models, and support scalable production ML systems.
- Create supporting and debugging tools, run experiments, and identify and resolve issues in deployed models.
- Develop algorithms for extracting, transforming, and loading large volumes of real-time unstructured data for AI/ML deployment.
- Collaborate in a team environment using statistics, scripting, programming languages, and relevant software platforms.
Requirements
- Be completing or have recently completed a PhD in software development, computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Have strong programming and problem-solving abilities.
- Have experience with applied machine learning and algorithms such as collaborative filtering, matrix factorization, factorization machines, Word2vec, logistic regression, gradient boosting trees, deep neural networks, and Wide and Deep.
- Have experience with deep learning tools such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Have experience with at least one programming language such as C++ or Python, or an equivalent language.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in recommendation systems, online advertising, information retrieval, natural language processing, machine learning, or large-scale data mining.
- Preferred qualifications include publications at relevant machine learning and information retrieval conferences or experience in data mining and machine learning competitions such as Kaggle or KDD Cup.
