Base Salary
$150k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as the hands-on technical lead for the Discovery pod from problem framing and architecture through implementation, launch, and production monitoring.
- Design and build full-stack web journeys for users and small teams to discover, evaluate, purchase, and begin using Speak.
- Lead cross-repository integrations across authentication, payments, entitlements, analytics, attribution, CRM, and administration experiences.
- Partner with product, design, analytics, Marketing, Sales, and adjacent engineering pods to define scope, sequence dependencies, and deliver end-to-end outcomes.
- Set quality standards for privacy, security, payment correctness, observability, performance, and resilient rollouts.
- Evolve architecture and development patterns while protecting conversion and revenue across high-traffic global funnels.
- Improve AI-native development practices through design reviews, QA loops, verification, and safe AI-assisted contributions.
- Mentor engineers and raise standards for technical judgment, communication, and ownership.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building high-quality, production-scale web applications.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Experience leading ambiguous, multi-system initiatives while remaining hands-on with architecture and implementation.
- Experience designing APIs and backend services, working with relational data, and defining clear system boundaries.
- Experience building reliable transactional or stateful workflows with attention to data integrity, idempotency, observability, and safe rollouts.
- Strong product and business judgment, cross-functional communication, and a willingness to mentor engineers.
- Excitement about AI-assisted development paired with thoughtful verification and a high production-quality bar.
- Preferred experience with Next.js and Postgres data modeling.
- Preferred experience with web payments, subscriptions, billing, invoicing, entitlements, identity and access, B2B account models, analytics, attribution, experimentation, CRM, marketing technology integrations, internationalized web products, or consumer and B2B SaaS surfaces.
