Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate production-ready security services in Rust.
- Develop ingress networking and security solutions for database service security, availability, and performance.
- Diagnose test failures and performance regressions and implement fixes.
- Lead development and project management for features and initiatives in the Ingress Security domain.
- Collaborate with Server, Atlas, Drivers, SRE, and Product Security teams on ecosystem integration.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering leadership to define the team roadmap.
- Review code and designs, independently lead new feature development, and mentor newer engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production-quality systems software.
- Experience with large backend or compiled codebases and performance-sensitive software, preferably in Rust.
- Strong systems fundamentals, including multithreaded programming and performance profiling.
- Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design and architecture.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Bonus experience in security-sensitive or networking-adjacent domains, network protocols, TLS, connection lifecycle management, attack surface reduction, input validation, memory safety, and defense-in-depth architectures.
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication, collaboration, time management, and project-complexity assessment skills.
- Interest in the theory and practice of high-availability, security-critical systems.
