Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs for media pipelines, alert management, reporting, investigation workflows, and 3D digital-twin data feeds.
- Develop accessible, responsive web interfaces with real-time dashboards, alert views, investigation workspaces, and multi-stream video review controls.
- Architect and implement real-time 3D digital-twin visualizations synchronized with physical robot state, sensor data, and telemetry.
- Build and maintain live and recorded media integrations using WebRTC, RTSP, HLS, MP4, and cloud media storage.
- Integrate network camera APIs and device controls into Knightscope platforms.
- Build backend services for media indexing, retrieval, playback logging, and archival.
- Contribute to ASR robot platform software across the K1, K1Hv2, H1, K5, and K7 fleets.
- Maintain code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices while collaborating with robotics, AI/ML, audio/video, DevOps, and UI/UX teams.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of full-stack software engineering experience focused on production-grade web applications.
- Expert proficiency in React, Redux, Node.js, ES6/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3, including component-based design systems and WCAG AA accessibility.
- Strong backend experience with Python, Java, or Node.js and a major web framework such as Django, Flask, Rails, or Express.
- Experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs and developing frontend video players with timeline scrubbing, frame navigation, and event markers.
- Hands-on experience with WebRTC, RTSP, HLS, and MP4 live or recorded video/audio technologies.
- Experience building interactive 3D or 2D digital-twin interfaces with Three.js, Babylon.js, Cesium, or WebGL and integrating real-time sensor or telemetry data.
- Experience with AWS services including S3, SQS, DocumentDB, or Kinesis and with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or Amazon DocumentDB.
- Familiarity with Axis VAPIX, ONVIF, or equivalent network camera APIs is preferred.
- FedRAMP compliance or U.S. Government security protocol experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
