Software Engineer I
TripAdvisorResponsibilities
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and coding through testing and deployment.
- Ship production code frequently, potentially on an almost daily basis.
- Build clean, readable solutions with automated unit and integration tests.
- Collaborate with product, design, and data experts to understand and deliver product requirements.
- Use AI coding tools for boilerplate, unit tests, and small refactors.
- Participate in design reviews, communicate blockers, and seek technical feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, with typically 0–2 years of experience.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Full-stack web development familiarity and proficiency in at least one backend language such as Java, C#, Go, or Python.
- Basic understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Comfort coding with Cursor, Codex, Claude, or Open Code.
- Openness to working within the Java ecosystem after joining.
- Clear communication, curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate globally.
- Exposure to AWS, React, or NoSQL databases is especially valued.
