Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate data pipelines and data management systems for collecting, storing, and processing TB-to-PB-scale medical data.
- Develop annotation tools and improve workflows and quality-control systems for large-scale medical labeling used by medical professionals and AI researchers.
- Design, build, and operate external service platforms including Foundation Model Services and medical data spaces for North American and Korean government programs.
- Develop React-based tool-oriented web UIs, APIs, and backend services, implementing solutions end to end from screen design through data modeling.
- Lead projects through requirements definition, design, implementation, deployment, and operations in collaboration with product managers.
- Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other AI development tools to improve design, implementation, testing efficiency, and quality.
- Implement data access controls, including RBAC, and data governance and lineage-tracking systems.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional backend-focused server development experience using technologies such as Go, Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating production-service APIs using REST or gRPC.
- Experience directly implementing user-facing screens with React or another modern frontend framework.
- Experience with RDBMS data modeling and query optimization.
- Experience handling complex domain data models and developing data or AI platforms.
- Experience designing and developing SaaS and multitenant products.
- Experience operating services delivered to external customers or partners, including deployment, incident response, and SLA responsibilities.
- Experience owning projects from design through deployment and operations rather than only implementing individual features.
- Experience clarifying requirements with PMs, designers, AI researchers, data engineers, and medical professionals.
- Ability to read and write technical documentation in English.
- Experience explaining design intent and reaching technical consensus through documents such as RFCs.
- Preferred: experience operating services on AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred: experience building and operating large-scale data pipelines using tools such as Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
- Preferred: understanding of data lake and data warehouse architectures, data quality systems, healthcare regulations, and data privacy standards.
- Preferred: experience with DICOM, HL7/FHIR, PACS integrations, global English collaboration, AI development tools, or government and consortium projects.
