Responsibilities
- Operate and scale managed Kubernetes environments and distributed systems across public clouds.
- Deploy, support, supervise, and improve services, platforms, and application stacks.
- Perform scale testing, disaster recovery planning, and capacity planning.
- Automate repetitive operational processes and improve them through iteration.
- Build and operate cloud infrastructure services with strong availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
- Manage fleet and cluster lifecycles, node provisioning, and hardware-adjacent reliability at scale.
- Build and operate CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure.
Requirements
- In-depth hands-on experience operating managed Kubernetes, particularly GKE and/or EKS, in a public cloud environment.
- Strong experience deploying, supporting, and supervising services, platforms, and application stacks.
- Experience with scaling distributed systems, scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- Ability to write programs in a high-level language such as Java, Swift, Python, or TypeScript.
- Understanding of efficient programming and complexity analysis.
- Experience with Nginx, Envoy, Prometheus, and/or Docker.
- Preferred experience across multiple public clouds, especially GCP and AWS.
- Preferred understanding of networking protocols and components including HTTP, DNS, ECMP, TCP/IP, ICMP, the OSI Model, subnetting, and load balancing.
- Preferred understanding of Linux, including the kernel, memory, processes, threads, libraries, IPC, and signals.
- Preferred experience with infrastructure-as-code and config-as-code tools such as Pulumi, Terraform, or Pkl.
- Preferred experience with fleet and cluster lifecycle management, node provisioning, GPU health, and capacity management.
- Preferred experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure.
