Base Salary
$90k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software and test suites supporting reliable production releases.
- Design and operate high-availability, multi-region cloud infrastructure and internal developer platforms.
- Establish observability, monitoring, alerting, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability standards.
- Automate infrastructure and operational workflows to reduce toil and improve deployment efficiency.
- Lead incident response coordination, root-cause analysis, and blameless post-incident reviews.
- Drive technical decisions and complex cross-team initiatives from concept through production.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and raise engineering standards through technical discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
- Partner with Product, UX, Architecture, Security, and Engineering teams to prioritize reliability.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional work experience is specified; 8+ years is preferred in Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering in high-scale distributed environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related degree, or the knowledge and skills typically acquired through an equivalent degree program.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Deep experience designing, deploying, and operating high-availability, multi-region production architectures on Google Cloud Platform or AWS/Azure.
- Production-level proficiency in Go, Python, or Java for distributed automation, internal developer platforms, and reliability tooling.
- Experience with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk and with implementing SLIs, SLOs, and alerting strategies.
- Expertise with Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Advanced operational experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Background in incident response, root-cause analysis, blameless post-mortems, and systemic reliability improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-team technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence technical direction without formal authority.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
