Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade control plane microservices, custom Kubernetes operators, and reconciliation engines in Rust and Go.
- Author functional and non-functional requirements, architectural specifications, system sequence diagrams, and gRPC/Protobuf and REST API schemas.
- Develop integration modules for SONiC, NVUE, Cumulus, modern network operating systems, and DPU hardware platforms.
- Instrument services with OpenTelemetry traces and metrics and perform root-cause analysis across distributed systems.
- Participate in review-gated pull request workflows and maintain high test coverage through mock-driven testing.
- Contribute to open-source systems projects and participate in cross-functional architecture reviews.
Requirements
- Primary mastery of Rust, including Tokio, Tonic, Axum, and sqlx, plus strong proficiency in Go.
- Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL skills, gRPC/Protobuf contract design, schema evolution, asynchronous concurrency, lock-free patterns, and distributed state handling.
- Expertise in BGP, MP-BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, L3VNI, route targets, route server design, SONiC, Cumulus Linux, and NVUE.
- Deep knowledge of NVIDIA DOCA, Host-Based Networking, BlueField DPU architectures, DPF, BFB, DPUSet, and DPUNode CRDs.
- Understanding of InfiniBand, NVLink, NMX-M partitioning, RoCEv2, Linux netlink, network namespaces, routing tables, DHCP/DNS services, CNI plugins, and Kubernetes networking.
- Expertise with PXE/iPXE, UEFI, Secure Boot, measured boot, TPM attestation, Redfish, IPMI, BMC abstractions, boot chains, systemd, initramfs, and BIOS configuration.
- Practical experience with PKI, X.509, TLS, SPIFFE/SVID, Vault, KMS, Keycloak, OAuth2/JWT, RBAC, KubeVirt, KVM, and custom Kubernetes controllers/operators.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience in cloud-native platforms, systems programming, networking, or infrastructure automation.
- Demonstrated open-source systems participation or maintainership is preferred.
- OVS and DPDK experience is a plus.
