Responsibilities
- Design, develop, customize, integrate, troubleshoot, and update software solutions and applications.
- Analyze system requirements and support software releases and rollouts.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on routine projects.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to verify technical specifications and application quality.
- Resolve complex technical issues in software applications and systems.
- Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to inform project strategies and product offerings.
- Train operational staff on internally developed applications.
- Work a regular schedule that may include nights, weekends, and variable hours.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency with Java 17 or later; Java 21 or 25 experience is preferred.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot 3 or later.
- Extensive experience with backend services, microservice architectures, SQL and NoSQL databases, schema design, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Firestore, RabbitMQ or similar messaging systems, Docker, Google Kubernetes Engine, and Google Cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Git, Maven repositories, Linux or macOS, shell scripting, Python, and Bash.
- Understanding of metadata and its role in reliable backend systems.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or a combination of coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience.
- Five to seven years of relevant work experience.
- Video streaming technologies such as HLS, DASH, and DRM, CDN configuration and optimization, and AWS experience are preferred.
