Responsibilities
- Design and develop core and advanced ABAP solutions for complex enterprise processes in SAP environments.
- Implement and optimize ABAP development for SAP HANA, including data-intensive applications and analytical workloads.
- Execute SAP ABAP upgrade and conversion activities, including custom-code adaptation, incompatibility resolution, and validation.
- Develop and maintain cloud ABAP services integrating with SAP S/4HANA and related cloud platforms.
- Refactor custom objects using object-oriented programming, CDS views, and performance optimization techniques.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, ABAP designs, data flows, and interface definitions.
- Create and execute unit and integration tests for ABAP objects.
- Investigate production incidents, debug ABAP programs, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
- Develop reusable ABAP frameworks, utilities, and code templates.
- Document technical designs, configuration details, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with onsite and remote team members in a hybrid delivery model.
- Conduct code reviews and quality checks for ABAP artifacts.
- Prototype ABAP and SAP HANA solutions for new product development initiatives.
Requirements
- Six to ten years of hands-on ABAP development experience.
- Strong experience delivering SAP upgrade, conversion, and new implementation projects.
- Deep proficiency in core and advanced ABAP, object-oriented design patterns, modularization, exception handling, and performance tuning.
- Expertise in ABAP development for SAP HANA, including CDS views, AMDP, and optimized data-access strategies.
- Practical experience with cloud ABAP, modern SAP cloud development paradigms, extensibility, and cloud-based services and APIs.
- Experience with new product development, scalable feature design, technical risk management, and iterative releases.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization skills in ABAP.
- Clear communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and business partners.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment without requiring frequent travel.
