Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a privacy-first Chromium-based desktop browser.
- Navigate and contribute to large browser codebases, including Chromium components such as Blink, V8, the network stack, sandboxing, and extensions.
- Implement privacy and security hardening, including anti-fingerprinting, content blocking, and reduced telemetry or third-party dependencies.
- Support cross-platform browser builds for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Deliver a high-quality, performant, fast, and distraction-free browsing experience.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams in a small, high-ownership environment.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining a Chromium-based browser or contributing to browser engineering at scale.
- Proficiency in C++ and comfort navigating large codebases such as Chromium.
- Familiarity with Chromium’s build system and cross-platform development for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Practical experience implementing privacy or security hardening.
- Solid knowledge of web platform standards and the security responsibilities of shipping a browser.
- Strong focus on product quality, performance, and user experience.
- Ability to work through ambiguity in a small, high-ownership team.
- Open-source experience is a plus.
- Rust experience is a plus.
