Responsibilities
- Develop features and automation for traffic, compute, and streaming platform services under senior-engineer guidance.
- Contribute to deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code, and reliability tooling.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and functional automated tests.
- Instrument services with metrics, logs, and traces, and help tune alerts and dashboards.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and contribute to post-incident follow-up work.
- Develop expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and site reliability practices through pairing, code review, and mentorship.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with Python, Java, Go, or another systems programming language, with a focus on maintainable, tested code.
- Foundational experience with AWS and Unix/Linux environments.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and infrastructure as code; Terraform is preferred.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or CloudWatch.
- Clear written and verbal communication and eagerness to learn reliability engineering practices.
- Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration is preferred.
- Coursework or project experience with large-scale distributed systems is preferred.
- Interest in streaming data technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis is preferred.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and automated performance or chaos testing is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, or equivalent training or work experience.
