Responsibilities
- Build cloud infrastructure from scratch using software development best practices.
- Improve platform scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency for hundreds of global customers.
- Lead incident triage, mitigation, escalation support, and root cause analysis.
- Develop tools and automation to eliminate manual work and reduce issue resolution times.
- Perform full-stack diagnostics and determine the causes of production problems.
- Advise engineering teams on scalable solutions and participate in design reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and QA.
- Develop primarily backend systems with opportunities to work on frontend and infrastructure.
- Communicate outage issues effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Mentor team members and contribute to a high-performing engineering environment.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java development experience, preferably in enterprise cloud software companies.
- Hands-on operational experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment.
- Experience with incident management and root cause analysis.
- Ability to write clean, testable, readable, and maintainable code.
- Hands-on experience with Spring, MySQL, Hibernate, Solr, Maven, Git, Tomcat, Linux, AWS, Vagrant, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- At least 3 years of relational database experience and expert-level SQL skills.
- Scripting proficiency with Shell, Bash, Ansible, Python, Go, or Ruby.
- Demonstrated incident-management leadership and effective communication across organizational levels.
- A proven record of mentoring and improving team effectiveness.
