Responsibilities
- Design and program software modules, components, features, and feature areas for web and cloud applications.
- Capture system-level requirements with architects, data scientists, business teams, and product managers.
- Define work scope, estimate development effort, and justify estimates with supporting facts.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture and design activities, whiteboarding, and technology selection.
- Guide two to three developers through planning, execution, and/or design architecture.
- Work with Product Line Leaders to understand product requirements and vision.
- Deliver tasks against product release goals while maintaining code quality through best practices, unit testing, and automation.
- Contribute to build, release, and deployment processes and provide feedback on design and development.
Requirements
- Graduate degree or equivalent completion in Computer Science or a STEM major is required.
- At least 7 years of hands-on backend/frontend development experience in web or cloud applications is required.
- Experience implementing applications on Azure or AWS using microservices architecture and Docker/containerization.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, jQuery, web servers, and RESTful web services.
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with session management, caching, algorithms and data structures, and secure coding.
- Experience with AMQP or MQTT and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Understanding of application and infrastructure architecture, including performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Strong understanding of programming concepts, object-oriented programming, design principles and patterns, refactoring, maintainable and reusable code, architecture, TDD, unit testing, debugging, and automation.
- Ability to estimate development tasks, solve problems, collaborate, influence, and articulate technical ideas.
- Flexibility to learn and develop using languages, technologies, and tools required by the project.
