Base Salary
$209k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture, platform roadmaps, shared-services strategy, and long-term technology direction.
- Build and modernize backend services for customer rewards redemptions, including miles transfers, cash redemptions, purchase erasers, and gift cards.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, fraud-reduction groups, customer experience organizations, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Mentor engineers, participate in technology communities, and influence coding standards, design patterns, and enterprise technical standards.
- Use cloud platforms, databases, container orchestration, observability, and automated delivery practices to build resilient systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field is required.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience is required; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies is required.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 9+ years coding in multiple listed languages, and experience with open source frameworks, frontend frameworks, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred qualifications include experience mentoring senior engineers, leading architectural design reviews, establishing coding standards, implementing observability and reliability practices, and influencing technology strategy.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, IDE copilots, interactive AI tooling, and large-scale cross-functional engineering initiatives is preferred.
