Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, engineering, and implementation of DHS OIG AI platform capabilities, including OIG Chat, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and mission-specific AI applications.
- Design secure connection and integration architectures between Azure Government and Azure Commercial/GCC environments while addressing authorization, security, privacy, and ATO requirements.
- Provide technical leadership for enterprise data platforms, analytics integration, dashboarding services, and AI/ML infrastructure.
- Conduct technical options analyses, feasibility assessments, level-of-effort estimates, and architectural decision support.
- Coordinate integration points across AI applications, data pipelines, security controls, monitoring infrastructure, and cloud services.
- Design and configure cloud compute, storage, networking, identity management, API management, and service integration patterns.
- Support access controls, role-based permissions, identity integration, conditional access, FedRAMP inheritance, ATO documentation, and security control implementation.
- Oversee architecture diagrams, integration specifications, design decisions, API documentation, security architectures, and platform capability inventories.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, M365/Azure administrators, and development teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 12 years, an associate degree plus 17 years, or 21 years of experience with no degree; equivalencies are considered.
- Proven technical leadership experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale cloud platforms, AI/ML infrastructure, or data analytics solutions.
- Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure services including App Services, Functions, AKS, Blob, Data Lake, VNets, private endpoints, Entra ID, Azure OpenAI, and AI Foundry.
- Extensive experience designing secure architectures for Azure Government and Azure Commercial, including boundary controls, cross-tenant connectivity, and data residency.
- Strong background in platform security, identity and access management, API design, microservices architectures, and integration patterns.
- Desired experience with AI/ML platforms, LLM-based applications, RAG architectures, and enterprise data platform integration.
- Desired hands-on experience with FedRAMP authorization, ATO support, NIST 800-53 controls, inherited controls, and continuous monitoring.
- Federal government, law enforcement, or national security experience is desired.
