Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship production LLM applications and multi-agent systems end to end, from data and inference through serving, APIs, and product integration.
- Develop retrieval-augmented generation using chunking, embeddings, hybrid search, reranking, vector indexes, and retrieval-quality evaluation.
- Build multi-step and multi-agent workflows using tool calling, sequential handoffs, and scheduled or DAG-based orchestration.
- Own evaluation harnesses, monitoring, tracing, drift detection, prompt and version management, model promotion, and retraining throughout the production lifecycle.
- Optimize systems for cost, latency, reliability, and scale using caching, model routing, batching, and streaming.
- Implement guardrails and security controls including prompt-injection defense, tool-misuse prevention, data-exfiltration protection, PII handling, audit logging, and authentication.
- Partner with product, data science, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable systems and communicate technical tradeoffs and results.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics, or a related field with 5 years of AI, ML, or software engineering experience, or a master's degree in a related field with 3 or more years of experience.
- 4+ years of Python experience and 2+ years of SQL experience.
- Hands-on experience with PySpark and DataFrame APIs on a large-scale distributed platform.
- 3+ years building machine learning models, including training, tuning, and evaluation.
- 2+ years shipping production LLM applications using prompt engineering, RAG over vector indexes, and deterministic logic alongside GenAI reasoning.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with GenAI frameworks and tools such as LangChain or equivalent, Anthropic, OpenAI or Hugging Face APIs, and vector databases.
- 1+ year building and orchestrating multi-agent or multi-step systems.
- Experience exposing AI capabilities as production services and APIs with attention to latency, reliability, versioning, and authentication.
- 2+ years of production operations for AI or ML, including evaluation, monitoring, tracing, cost, and latency management.
- Experience with Git, Docker, logging, monitoring, secrets handling, safe rollbacks, testing, and code review.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, and product judgment in probabilistic systems.
- Preferred experience with Databricks Model Serving, Unity Catalog, Vector Search, MLflow, Databricks Asset Bundles, MCP servers and tools, conversational AI assistants, A2A orchestration, agent memory and state management, model fine-tuning or distillation, Microsoft Azure, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, and AI-assisted development tools.
- A public GitHub profile or project portfolio is encouraged.
