Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and integration of cloud software applications and configure deployment environments for cloud and non-cloud components.
- Implement cloud applications aligned with program requirements and business roadmaps.
- Coordinate with development teams and customers on designs, estimates, risks, assumptions, and limitations.
- Build and continuously improve automated build, test, and deployment environments using DevOps practices.
- Provide operational support for applications and tools to meet availability and service-level requirements.
- Design, develop, and deploy microservices in Kubernetes-based environments such as EKS and OpenShift.
- Develop scalable, highly available enterprise systems using containerized workloads, databases, and object storage.
- Write efficient, testable code, coach team members, and verify designs comply with specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 6–9 years of software experience; alternatively, a graduate degree with 4–7 years of experience or 10–12 years of software experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 5 years of cloud software development experience is preferred.
- At least 5 years of object-oriented programming experience with Java, C++, or Python is preferred.
- At least 3 years of Java software development experience, including Web Services, JMS, application servers, and JavaScript development with NodeJS or ReactJS, is preferred.
- Experience developing applications using relational and NoSQL databases is preferred.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment automation is preferred.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification or a similar certification for another cloud provider is preferred.
- Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, XML, REST, SOAP, Python, and Bash is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust clearance is required.
