Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale software engineering efforts and serve as the development lead for medium and large projects.
- Provide architectural guidance, conduct design reviews for Agile and Plan of Record projects, and conduct code reviews for Next Gen Architecture projects.
- Develop, promote, and communicate design patterns, engineering standards, and best practices across lines of business.
- Evaluate technical architecture, performance, scalability, resource usage, risks, dependencies, and long-term technology strategies.
- Partner with business stakeholders, TPMs, engineering managers, and technical teams to make timely trade-off and delivery decisions.
- Mentor and coach SDEs and their teams while helping remove blockers and organize delivery.
- Drive metrics and adoption for design reviews, code reviews, CI/CD, and design patterns.
- Support application development activities including analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in software design and development with Java, MongoDB, Oracle, OpenShift, Kafka, and distributed computing.
- 6-10 years of relevant application development experience or senior-level enterprise architecture experience as a subject matter expert.
- Expertise with Java microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and Kafka integration; Pega experience is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, networking, and enterprise software architecture.
- Experience with AWS, PCF, Akamai, and Citi's Next Gen Architecture technology.
- Knowledge of automating code quality, code performance, unit testing, and build processing.
- Bachelor's or university degree required; master's degree preferred.
- Strong communication, influence, risk assessment, architectural judgment, and mentoring abilities.
