Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services for reporting, analytics, data export, and data-driven product features.
  • Design and implement APIs integrating with internal and external BI tools.
  • Apply data modeling and transformation techniques for dimensional analytics and interactive visualizations.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, privacy, and compliance standards across systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Research and experiment with tools, frameworks, technologies, and APIs.
  • Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and other agile development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience in enterprise environments focused on reporting, analytics, data export, or insights.
  • Expertise in systems design and experience designing complex distributed systems at scale with attention to performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling, data transformation, and data visualization best practices.
  • Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure and cloud-based data warehousing, preferably Google BigQuery.
  • Proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Python, PHP, or Go.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB, including schema design, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with streaming or near-real-time ingestion technologies such as Kafka and Pub/Sub.
  • Understanding of API design and integration with Looker, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Proficiency with JSON and CSV data serialization formats.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, security, and governance best practices.
  • Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or other agile software development methodologies.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and code-quality skills.
  • Experience integrating applications with AI/ML systems is a plus.
