Responsibilities
- Plan testing approaches and test-data creation activities for customer project deliveries.
- Design and develop functional and non-functional use cases and test cases against business objectives and requirements.
- Maintain and execute test scripts using test management tools and report testing progress and status.
- Identify, track, investigate, reproduce, and verify defects in collaboration with developers.
- Provide feedback on product limitations and key challenges discovered during testing.
- Take responsibility for product life-cycle quality by developing domain and solution knowledge.
- Participate actively in agile development team duties.
- Train and mentor others in software testing methodologies to improve quality and reduce risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience.
- Experience with Energy, Generation Management Systems (EMS/GMS), and SCADA systems, including Automatic Generation Control, generation planning, economic dispatch, and reserve management.
- Knowledge of quality assurance programs, procedures, testing principles, and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions and make quality-related decisions that may significantly affect contracts.
- Preferred experience with Zephyr Scale for Jira and Azure DevOps.
- Preferred experience building automated tests using Visual Studio, NUnit, or TestNG.
- Preferred programming experience with C# or Java.
- Diversified knowledge of engineering, electric utilities, and related functions.
- Existing work authorization permitting work for Hitachi Energy in the US.
