Responsibilities
- Define and execute the vision for TD’s Global Transaction Banking foundational services platform.
- Design and govern RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including contracts, versioning, gateway configuration, and consumer-driven contract testing.
- Own connectivity architecture across internal platforms, partner networks, and third-party services, including event-driven integration, message routing, and protocol translation.
- Define, build, and deploy application infrastructure on Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Deliver secure, resilient, scalable data products and services for entitlements, products, and reference data.
- Write production code, lead design reviews, shape platform direction, and influence technology strategy across segments, geographies, and channels.
- Present platform problems, solutions, and work to product and executive stakeholders.
- Foster engineering excellence, innovation, and accountability across Global Transaction Banking.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering or relevant experience, including at least 3 years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Proven experience designing and delivering production-grade full-stack systems at enterprise scale.
- Deep expertise in platform engineering and Kubernetes-based application deployment.
- Strong backend engineering experience with Java, REST and GraphQL API design, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience with API gateway patterns, OAuth2, mutual TLS, OIDC, integration architecture, rate limiting, observability, and reliability.
- Extensive experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL databases, plus NoSQL databases including MongoDB and Neo4j.
- Strong data modeling expertise, including graph-based data models.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application delivery.
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as Java or Python.
- Working knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, and AI-enabled engineering practices.
- Hands-on experience is required, with the role structured around 50% platform development, 30% architecture, and 20% product and executive presentations.
- Bachelor’s or university degree or equivalent experience is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Cash management or transaction banking experience is preferred.
