Responsibilities
- Define and execute the vision for TD’s Global Transaction Banking foundational services platform.
- Own end-to-end delivery and integration of entitlement, product, and reference-data services.
- Design and govern RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including contracts, versioning, gateway configuration, and consumer-driven contract testing.
- Own connectivity architecture across internal platforms, partner networks, and third-party services, including event-driven integration, message routing, and protocol translation.
- Build and deploy application infrastructure on Azure Kubernetes Services.
- Deliver secure, resilient, scalable data products and services with API security, rate limiting, observability, and reliability built in.
- Write code, lead design reviews, define infrastructure, and influence platform direction and technology strategy.
- Present technical problems and work to product and executive stakeholders.
- Foster engineering excellence, innovation, and accountability across Global Transaction Banking.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Proven experience designing and delivering production-grade, enterprise-scale full-stack systems.
- Deep expertise in platform engineering and Kubernetes-based application deployment.
- Strong backend engineering foundation in Java, REST and GraphQL API design, and distributed systems.
- Experience with API gateway patterns, OAuth2, mutual TLS, OIDC, and integration architecture.
- Extensive experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL, and NoSQL databases including MongoDB and Neo4j.
- Strong data-modeling expertise, including graph-based data models.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application delivery.
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as Java or Python.
- Hands-on experience is required; the role is approximately 50% hands-on platform development.
- Working knowledge of generative AI, large language models, and AI-enabled engineering practices.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Cash management or transaction banking experience is preferred.
- Ability to define solutions amid ambiguity and make technical tradeoffs.
