Responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end software solutions throughout all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Translate business and technical requirements into technical design direction using specifications, UML modeling, and related techniques.
- Create and maintain context, conceptual, logical, physical, class, and sequence architecture diagrams.
- Help define enterprise architectural principles, guidelines, technology standards, governance processes, and reusable reference architectures.
- Evaluate current-state and target-state architecture and develop transition plans and architectural road maps.
- Support architecture and technology governance boards and enforce alignment with enterprise standards and reference architectures.
- Complete proof of concepts, participate in code reviews, and lead or participate in vendor, technology, and tool selection.
- Research industry trends and best practices and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
- Provide architectural consultation, support, mentoring, and guidance to project teams, solution architects, and developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Professional solution architecture experience.
- Extensive experience developing architectural models, with depth in one or more of business architecture, information architecture, and application/technical architecture and breadth across all disciplines.
- Experience with product evaluation, vendor selection, and buy-versus-build decisions.
- Strong understanding of messaging, MOM, SOA, ESB, and EAI principles and patterns.
- Working knowledge of Web Services, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, and interface design.
- Expertise with a broad range of products, technologies, platforms, patterns, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of technical design documentation methods and technologies, including Visio, UML, and object modeling.
- Strong communication, presentation, influencing, reasoning, leadership, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with multiple programming languages, including C#, Java, .NET, and C++, is preferred.
- Experience with IBM Content Management Systems such as FileNet P8 is preferred.
