Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end software solutions throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Define architectural principles, technology standards, governance processes, transition plans, road maps, and reusable reference architectures.
- Translate business and technical requirements into technical design direction and architectural models.
- Create and maintain context, conceptual, logical, physical, class, and sequence diagrams and other architecture artifacts.
- Conduct proof of concepts, product evaluations, vendor and tool selection, and buy-or-build analyses.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure solutions comply with architectural principles, standards, and reference architectures.
- Research industry trends and provide technology and methodology recommendations to stakeholders.
- Provide architectural consultation, mentoring, and guidance to project teams, solution architects, and developers.
- Collaborate with executives, management, enterprise architects, project stakeholders, vendors, and developers across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Professional experience in solution architecture.
- Extensive experience developing architectural models, with depth in business, information, or application/technical architecture and breadth across architecture disciplines.
- Experience with product evaluation and selection, vendor selection, and buy-or-build decisions.
- Command of software design principles and patterns.
- Strong understanding of messaging, MOM, SOA, ESB, and EAI principles and patterns.
- Working knowledge of Web Services, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, and interface design.
- Expertise across a broad range of products, technologies, platforms, patterns, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of technical design documentation methods and technologies, including UML and object modeling.
- Strong communication, presentation, influencing, reasoning, leadership, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with multiple programming languages such as C#, Java, .NET, and C++ is a plus.
- Experience with IBM Content Management Systems such as FileNet P8 is a plus.
- Familiarity with insurance and financial systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, and UML modeling tools.
