Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end WMS solution architecture for large distribution-center transformation programs.
- Lead Manhattan Active WM platform design, configuration strategy, extensibility, cloud/SaaS deployment, data modeling, and roadmap alignment.
- Architect and govern integrations across WMS, ERP, TMS, OMS, labor management, WCS/WES, automation, middleware, and analytics platforms.
- Design warehouse automation integration architectures covering AS/RS, AMRs, conveyors, sortation, robotic picking, and pick-to-light/voice systems.
- Lead WMS technology assessments, platform selections, RFP/RFI processes, vendor demonstrations, evaluation frameworks, and executive recommendations.
- Translate warehouse operations and business requirements into scalable WMS designs that minimize unnecessary customization.
- Provide technical oversight to configuration, functional, development, and integration teams through design, build, and testing.
- Own architecture governance, decision logs, change control, design reviews, and escalation management.
- Create client-facing architecture diagrams, blueprints, ADRs, scorecards, and solution documentation.
- Advise CIOs, CTOs, VP-level leaders, and enterprise architects on technology trade-offs, risks, and strategic recommendations.
- Support proposals, RFP responses, SOW and contract technology sections, client demonstrations, and WMS points of view.
- Build reusable architecture patterns, integration accelerators, platform evaluation tools, and technology practice assets.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in supply chain technology, WMS implementation, or distribution-center systems delivery.
- At least 6 years in a Solution Architect or Senior Functional Architect role supporting large-scale WMS or distribution-center automation programs.
- At least 5 years architecting and delivering Manhattan Active WM solutions, including platform design, configuration, extensibility, cloud/SaaS deployment, and enterprise integrations.
- At least 5 years designing and implementing WMS integration architectures using API, event-driven, and batch patterns, data modeling, and middleware strategies.
- At least 5 years translating complex operational requirements into scalable WMS designs and leading cross-functional, multi-vendor programs.
- Experience integrating warehouse automation systems and designing throughput, failure-mode, resilience, and scalability solutions.
- Experience leading WMS technology selection and RFP/RFI processes.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder-management skills with C-suite, CIO/CTO, and VP-level audiences.
- Manhattan Active WM certification, Manhattan Associates partner credentials, or equivalent platform recognition is preferred.
- Experience with cloud/SaaS WMS architecture, multi-tenant architecture, data residency, disaster recovery, and cloud integration patterns is preferred.
- Experience with Blue Yonder Luminate Warehouse Management, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS Cloud, or other enterprise WMS platforms is preferred.
- Experience with MuleSoft, Azure Service Bus, Dell Boomi, IBM MQ, or equivalent integration middleware is preferred.
- Experience with warehouse data models, real-time reporting pipelines, labor analytics, and AI/ML applications for demand sensing, labor forecasting, or slotting optimization is preferred.
- Direct distribution-center operations or industrial engineering experience is preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma, TOGAF, or other architecture or operational excellence certifications are preferred.
- Consulting or systems-integrator experience with Fortune 500 clients is preferred.
- An MBA or advanced technical degree in a related discipline is preferred.
