Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery on a high-volume payment platform.
- Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services, and Support teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based RESTful APIs and event-driven applications using Spring Boot and Apache Kafka.
- Modernize monolithic systems by developing scalable microservices and enterprise platform capabilities.
- Deploy new features to production with zero platform downtime and no impact on active customers.
- Apply domain expertise in ecommerce payments and build new product features.
- Use pair programming, test-driven development, and related software engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- 7+ years of relevant job experience in Java software engineering, including internships.
- Exceptional database and schema design, SQL, and Java programming skills.
- Ability to derive requirements from business goals and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Experience with financial systems, payments infrastructure, or high-volume transactional systems requiring precision and auditability.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, RESTful APIs, and event-driven applications.
- Preferred experience includes microservices, globally distributed services, 24/7 support, resilient platforms, AWS, OpenShift, build and deployment tools, observability tools, and unit testing frameworks.
- Pair programming experience and a willingness to try new approaches.
